Floors Castle Terrace Cafe & Garden Centre, Kelso (also sells delicious ready meals prepared in the castle kitchens for an easy but very tasty dinner – try the sticky toffee pudding to take away!)

Cocoa Black Chocolate Boutique, in beautiful Peebles – an absolute must for chocoholics. This ‘coffee shop’ was opened by the local chocolatier and allows you to totally indulge your sweet tooth. You can also book ahead for the Chocolate & Pastry School. With classes and recipes developed by Ruth Hinks, the school provides tuition for all levels from beginner to professional. Whether you’re looking to spend a lazy afternoon preparing French patisserie, a chef seeking to develop your pastry section, or are training for international culinary competition they have a course to suit. Well worth the scenic 20 mile journey with lots of lovely independent shops and Galleries there too. Lots of great walks in the area too.
